Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday. EDYTHE LEE HICKMAN Edythe Lee Hickman, 95, of Pensacola died Saturday, March 5, 1994. Ms. Hickman was a native of Knoxville, and had resided in Pensacola for the past six years.

She was a member of the Disciples of Christ Church. As the wife of a minister, she served as a Choir Director and teacher in the church. Survivors include two nieces, Betty Langley of Pensacola Margaret Herzberg of Beaumont, Texas; and numerous great-nieces and -nephews. Graveside services were held Wednesday, March 9, at Barrancas National Cemetery. BAYVIEW FISHER-POU CHAPEL was in charge of arrangements.

EMMETT LOUPER HOUSTON Mr. Emmett Louper Houston, 82, of Lakeland, died Tuesday, March 8, 1994, at his home. Mr. Houston was born in Crestview, Feb. 28, 1912, and moved to Lakeland from Pensacola in November of 1993.

He was a veteran of World War Il and was a retired Aircraft Painter at NAS Pensacola. Mr. Houston was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Eunice Houston of Lakeland; his son, Dr. Richard Houston of Alpharetta, three daughters, Donna Rogers of Lakeland, JoAnn Mitchell and Jean Houston, both of Pensacola; a sister, Arvonia Holmes of Chambiee, and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday at Lanier Funeral Home Chapel. LANIER FUNERAL HOME, 717 Griffin Lakeland, is in charge of arrangements. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday prior to services. THOMAS FRANCIS JONES Thomas Francis Jones, 75, of Pace died Tuesday afternoon, March 8, 1994, in a local hospital.

Mr. Jones was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Olive Baptist Church. He retired in 1971, as an aircraft mechanic with N.A.R.F. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Helen Fore Jones.

Survivors include his wife, Hilda Ferrell Jones of Pace; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Tommy Rogers of Pace; two step-daughters and son-in-law, Patsy and Allen Emery of Hatch, N.M., and Brenda Lee of West Monroe, sister, Ethel Taylor of Cantonment; brother, Joe Jones of Pace; three grandchildren, Scott and April Rogers of Pace and Jim Rogers of Munson; seven step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday, March 11, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with the Rev. F.L. Enfinger officiating.

Burial will be in Whitmire Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim Rogers, Scott Rogers, Freddy Jones, Van Emery, Russell Carney and Scott Lee. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Batten, Dale Holly, Joe Fore, Bill Ferrell, Henry Lee and Dick Campbell. HARPER-MORRIS MEMORIAL CHAPEL is in charge of arrangements. BERNICE McBRIDE DRAKE Bernice McBride Drake, 66, of Pensacola died March 6, 1994, in a local hospital following a long illness. Mrs. Drake was born May 13, 1927, In Alco, to the late Atlas Lee and Isabella McBride. She was a member of the Springhill Baptist Church where she was a member of the Senior Usher Board, Home Mission Society and the Pastor's Aide Club. She was also a member of the Ada Chapter No.

197, O.E.S. Mrs. Drake retired from University. Hospital. Survivors include her husband, Clifton Drake Jr.

of Pensacola; four daughters, Lucrisia Barnwell of Stone Mountain, Betty Walker, Carla Drake, both of Pensacola, and Angela Drake of Arlington, two sons, Bobby Drake of Detroit and Larry Drake of Atlanta: a brother, Lorenzo McBride Wilmington, two sons-in-law, Charles Walker of Pensacola and Edward Barnwell of Stone Mountain; daughter-in-law, Helen Drake of Detroit; a granddaughter; eight grandsons; cousin, Ossie Bass; four devoted friends, Ethel Copeland, Eddie Mae Puryear, Lucille Long and Mary Walker, all of Pensacola; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 11, at Springhill Baptist Church with the Rev. L.V. Gibbs, pastor of the church, and the Rev.

Thursday. QUENTIN ALVIN FILLINGIM Quentin Alvin Fillingim, 71, of Pensadied Tuesday, March 8, 1994, in a local hospital. Mr. Fillingim was a native of Barrineau Park and had been a resident of Pensacola for most of his life. He retired from the Florida Highway Patrol as a Sergeant in 1971, after 25 years of service.

Mr. Fillingim was also retired from the Escambia County Tax Assessor's office. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II; a member of Masonic Lodge Easthill No. 310, and the Lathram Chapel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include Josephine Fillingim; two daughters and sons-in-law, Anice and Robert Stephens and Alice Ann and Paul Grillo; five grandchildren, Rhonda and Melinda Stephens and Nicole, Susan and Michelle Grillo; three sisters, Cliney Miller, Margaret Grant and Thelma Allman; and two brothers, Bill and Aubie Fillingim. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Faith Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Funchess Jr. and Dr.

Roy Julian officiating. Brethren of Masonic Lodge Easthill No. 310 will meet the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. to attend services. Burial, with Masonic services, will be in Lathram Chapel Cemetery.

Thursday. Robert Carl Finney Milton ROBERT CARL FINNEY, SR. died Wednesday morning in a local facility following an extended illness. Mr. Finney was a native of New Boston, Ohio, and had resided here since 1966.

He was retired from the U.S. Navy, having served in Korea, the Cuban crisis and Vietnam. He served as a Biomedical Engineer for the past 16 years at Santa Rosa Medical Center in Milton. Mr. Finney was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Beatrice "Bea" Finney Milton; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Carl. "Bob" Finney Jr. and Janet; daughter and son-in-law, Dianna K. and Charles E. Brewer; brother, James R.

Finney; sister, Mary Margaret Kah; and three grandchildren, Charles E. Brewer Brewer and Anna Marie Finney. Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Friday at Donnie Sowell Funeral Home with Chaplain George Kell, Hospice chaplain, officiating. Burial, with military honors, wilbe in Memory Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will James Cox, Ernie Fost, Optha Grant, Thomas Weeks, Lamar Nobles and Joe Esquinel. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Gulf Coast Hospital Engineers. DONNIE SOWELL FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Florida. DOUGLAS W. GARDNER Douglas W. Gardner, 69, of Pace died Monday, March 7, 1994, in a local hospital following a lengthy illness. Mr.

Gardner had lived in the Milton area for 14 years. He was a member of the Pace United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Bena "Bee" Gardner of Milton; two sons and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Gardner of Houston and Donald and Susan Gardner of St. and grandson, Douglas Charles Gardner of Milton. Funeral services will be 11 a.m.

Thursday, March 10, at the Lewis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Webb, pastor Pace United Methodist Church, officiating, Burial will follow in Bayview Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Marvin 1 Taylor, Colin Dykes, Don Brock, Dick Baugman, Joe Massey and Ray Jaquith. Honorary pallbearers will be George Strother, Charles Wilson, Ed Hardy, Emil Arenberg, Jack Byrnes, Jim Franklin and Dick Sample. LEWIS FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. EDDIE L. GARDNER SR. Eddie L. Gardner 74, of Pensacola died Tuesday, March 8, 1994, in a local hospital.

Mr. Gardner was a native of Dixon, and had been a resident of Pensacola for the past 17 years. He was a member of the Spoken Word Church; a lifetime member of the DAV; and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War 11, where he received the Purple Heart. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Judith Brower; son, Jerry Gardner; and two grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Gardner; two daughters and son-in-law, Nancy Cook and Lori and Mike Carter; three sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie L. Gardner Mark and Kim Gardner and Steve and LaVonna Gardner; two sisters, Ethel Lowe and Vergie Snyder; three brothers, Vergil Gardner, Tommy Gardner and Vernor Gardner; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, at Rev. Faith Chapel Floyd Funeral la officiating.

Home Burial will be in Pensacola Memorial Gardens. FAITH CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9p.m. Thursday. JOYCE CHRISTINE HAGGARD Joyce Christine Haggard, 20, Pensacola died Monday, March 7, 1994, in a local hospital.

Miss Haggard was a native of Pensacola. She attended St. John's Catholic School, graduated from Catholic High School in 1991, and also attended Pensacola Junior or College. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church.

Survivors include her father and mother, James and Christine Haggard; sister, Michelle Haggard, all of Pensacola; sister and brother-in-law, Wanda Christopher Simoneaux of Orlando; and her grandmother, Wanda M. Haggard of Elizabethtown, Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday, March 10, at St. John's Catholic Church with Father Joe Going celebrating Mass. Burial will be in Barrancas National Cemetery.

OAK LAWN FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements. She is survived by three daughters, Donna Taylor, Annette Johnson and Nita Holbert; son, Billy Joe Hanson; sister, Martha Nance; brothers, Joe and Lloyd Gargas; and eight grandchildren. ANNIE HANSON Annie Hanson, 57, of Pensacola died Tuesday, March 9, 1994, in a local hospital. Mrs. Kimmons was a native of Palatka but had resided in Santa Rosa County most of her life.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Milton. She is survived by her husband, Willard Kimmons two sons, Willard daughter, Kimmons Jr. Belinda and Bennie Elaine Kimmons; a brother, Jeffie Horn; sister, Esther Kerns; her mother, Mattie Bell Horn; two grandsons, Sean Kimmons and Nikki Kimmons, all of Milton. Graveside services be 2p.m. Friday in the Milton Cemetery with the Rev.

Owen Bozeman, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Pallbearers will be Harold Holbart, Greg Jackson, Mike Enfinger, Lacy McQueen, Buddy Burkett and Wayne Parker. DONNIE SOWELL FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 9p.m. Thursday.

Archie Lee Morris 65, of Jay died Tuesday night, March 8, 1994, in a ROBERT LEE SMART Robert Lee Smart, 69, of Pensacola died March 5, 1994, in a local hospital in Colquitt, the eldest child of the after a long term illness.

HENRY CURTIS STONE Henry Curtis Stone, 68, of Jay died Tuesday night, March 8, 1994, in a local hospital. Mr. Stone was a native of Baxley, and had resided in Milton before moving to Jay 10 years ago. He was retired from civil service where he was an aircraft mechanic. Mr.

Stone was preceded in death by his wife, Lily Mae Elliott Stone. Survivors include his wife, Janice Stone of Jay; two sons, Willard Stone of Milton and Henry Stone of Chumuckla; a half-sister, Barbara Zars of San Antonio; a half-brother, Richard Thurmond of Clarksville, a brother, Norman Stone of Baxley, and nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday in the Jay Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donald Leavins officiating.

ALINE HEWETT THORNTON Aline Hewett Thornton, 77, formerly of Pensacola, died Monday, 7, 1994, in DeFuniak Springs following a sudden illness. Mrs. Thornton was a native of Pensacola and was retired from Monsanto. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her husband, Marion R.
