Woman charged with retail grand theft A woman police say was marking down clothes prices at a Pensacola store was arrested Tuesday. Suzanne Beard Haines of the 1100 block of Ellyson Drive was detained by a Stein Mart security guard after she marked down prices on $494.77 in merchandise, then charged them on her Visa at the discounted prices.

Haines was charged with retail grand theft and is being held on $5,000 bond. By Keith Phillips News Journal GULF BREEZE The City Council will meet tonight to consider two proposals for refinancing millions in bonds on South Santa Rosa Utilities. The council will hear proposals from Raymond James and Associates of Gainesville and from Joe Mooney, the utilities' financial adviser. Each has a different plan for refinancing the outstanding bonds to take advantage of lower interest rates.

The non-profit water and sewer utility that services the Tiger Point area is controlled by the city, which must approve all major financial decisions. Utilities Chairman Jim Tanck Gulf Breeze By Keith Phillips News Journal GULF BREEZE A study of police wages and compensation that's key to negotiations between the city and the Fraternal Order of Police is due back to the City Council tonight. But some members of the FOP said Tuesday they're skeptical the report will be done in time. "They're not going to be ready tomorrow night or Monday night," Sgt. Robert Randle predicted Tuesday.

"They're going to keep stringing it out." However, City Manager Edwin Eddy said Tuesday that he's 70 percent sure that a final report will be in the council's hands at the executive session meeting. Mrs. Curran was born and raised in Charleston, S.C. She was employed at the Charleston Naval Shipyard for 33 Vi years, ending her career as compiling the data into a spreadsheet format. "We're trying our best to have it in time for (tonight's) meeting," said interim Police Chief Robert Minshull, who is compiling the study. Police officers say they will attend the meeting with their supporters and plan to speak to the council about wages.

Since negotiations have stalled, FOP members have been handing out yard signs and fliers to interested citizens. "We need their support," officer Jon Rhodes, FOP negotiator, said. "We just plan on trying to get as many people as we can to come up there and speak in our support." The city and the police group began negotiating a contract last May but changes in city personnel supervisor of telephone communications. After a few years of retirement, she took a position at Belk Robinsons Department Store on King Street as their advertising director for about 10 years. She moved to Pensacola in the early 1970's.

Mrs. Curran, in association with the Naval Aviation Foundation, established and managed the Aviation Museum's first book store. Mrs. Curran was preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. Curran.

Survivors Include two daughters, one being Mary C. Bradner, her guardian; son-in-law, Walter L. Bradner five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. McNEIL-KEYES FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements. CLARENCE R.

FLINN Clarence R. Flinn, 96, was born in Winteroad Community, son of Aberdell Flinn and Mary Elisa Flinn, on Nov. 7, 1896. He passed away at his home Tuesday, March 30, 1993, at 2 a.m. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Beverly Flinn of Milton; two grandsons, Lance and wife Robin of Jay and Shannon and wife Audra of Milton; one granddaughter, Shonna and husband Jim Nowlmg of Jay; three great-grandsons, Ryan Flinn and Josh and Justin Nowling, all of Jay; two great-granddaughters, Megan Flinn of Milton and Tosha Flinn of Jay.

LEO EDWARD GATHLENY Leo Edward Gathleny, 78, of Pensacola died Monday, March 29, 1993. Mr. Gathleny was a native of Pensacola and had been a resident of Pensacola most of his life. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and the Knights of-Columbus Council 778.

He graduated from St. Bernard College in Cullman, and was the former owner of Ed L. Anderson Office Machine Company. Survivors include his wife, Annie Kate Gathleny; a daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Richard Bender; a grandson, Michael Bender; a granddaughter, Patty Bender; and a special friend, James Switzer. Funeral Mass will be Thursday at St.

Michael's Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Richard Bowles officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery with HARPER-MORRIS MEMORIAL CHAPEL directing. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 9 p.m.

Richard Bowles officiating. HARPER-MORRIS MEMORIAL CHAPEL is in charge of arrangements. ANNA ISABEL MULLEK Anna Isabel Mullek, 76, a native of St. delayed a resolution. Officers have been working without a contract since October.

The major difference is in the amount of annual wage increases officers would receive in the next three-year contract. Gulf Breeze Patrol officers earn a salary range of $17,000 to $25,000 annually. After a closed-door strategy session this month, the City Council decided to perform the wage and compensation study before continuing negotiations. Minshull said the study looks at all types of compensation and includes figures from area agencies as well as departments similar in size and nature to Gulf Breeze. Among the items studied are salary ranges, raises, increases and how they are administered, overtime policies and health care.

Joseph, a former resident of Summerdale, and a resident of Robertsdale, died March 29, 1993. Survivors include six daughters, Mary Jo Cartysle of Gainesville, Elizabeth Zitnik of Loxley, Lea Theresa Rivers of Pensacola, Margaret McCandless of Jacksonville; Bernarda Marie Zenker of Oklahoma City, and Isabel Rosanne Gongola of New Bedford, three sons, Joseph Bernard Mullek of Robertsdale, Francis Edward Mullek of Summer-dale, and John Andrew Mullek of Robertsdale; four sisters, Wilhelmena Henkel of Kentucky, Sister Madaline Sophie S.C.N., Sister Bernadette Maria S.C.N., both of Nazareth, and Sister Mary Zita S.C.N, of Chattanooga, three brothers, Francis Henkel of Sacramento, Paul Vincent Henkel of Birmingham, and Joseph Justin Henkel of New York; 26 grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. OAK LAWN FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements. JOHN TRACEY RODGER John Tracey Rodger, 73, of Pace died Monday, March 29, 1993, in a local hospital after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Rodger was born in Paisley, Scotland, and emigrated to the United States at the age of 10. During World War II he served in the RCAF, U.S. Army Air Corps and U.S. Air Force.

He was a P.O.W. in Siberia for eight months in 1943 and 1944. He flew in the Berlin Air Lift. He was awarded two D.F.C. with one O.L.C., EAME Campaign Medal-Asiatic-Pacific with two Bronze Stars, Air Medal with one O.L.C., British Service Ribbon, American Theatre Ribbon, and Victory Medal for World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Lola J. Radcliffe Rodger of Pace; two stepdaughters, Barbara Rogers of Memphis, and Judy Long of Lancaster, stepson, Jack Radcliffe of Pace; eight grandchildren; 12 greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Mexia Baptist Church in Mexia, with the Rev. Fred Rogers, pastor of First Assembly of God Church of Milton, officiating.

in a local hospital. Mrs. Sanders was a native of Milligan and had resided in Milton since 1938. She was retired from the Santa Rosa County School system. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Milton and the Golden Voices Choir.

She was preceded in death by her-husband, Allen J. Sanders, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. D.F. Dock" Smith.

Benfer was a member of the Methodist church and had been a resident of Pensacola for the past nine years. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a CWO 4 after 26 years of service and was a veteran of Viet Nam. Mr. Benfer was a member of TROA and was currently employed as Quality Control Manager of UNC Aviation Services, AIMD, Pensacola.

Boudreaux, 86, of Pensacola died Monday, March 29, 1993, at home. Mr. Boudreaux was a native of Lockport, and had been a resident of Pensacola for the past 44 years. He was a member of Our Savior Catholic Church and was a fourth degree Knights of Columbus. He retired as a Greyhound Bus Driver after 23 years of service, was a retired Texaco service station owner and was an active member of the Over 55 Club.

Survivors include his wife, Marion B. Boudreaux; son and daughter-in-law, Louis C. and Alice Inez Boudreaux; daughter and son-in-law, Marion and Howard Pilcher, all of Pensacola; grandchildren, Terry Boudreaux of Pensacola, Tricia and Steve Smith of Virginia Beach, Julie and Dana Papalardo of St. Petersburg and Jim Pilcher of Pensacola; and a great- grandchild, Tiemey Smith of Virginia each. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 1 a.m.

HENRY ASHTON BRAKE Henry Ashton Brake, 75, of Pensacola died Sunday afternoon in a local hospital. Mr. Brake was a native of Munson and had been a resident of Pensacola most of his life.

He was a member of Heights Baptist Church, Escambia Masonic Lodge No. 15, Hadji Shrine Temple, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 253 and was a Scottish Rite Mason. Mr. Brake retired as a conductor with the Railroad after 41 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ann Brake. Survivors include a daughter, Pat Padgett of Jacksonville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Frank McBride of Virginia Beach, and Ginger and Billy French of Pensacola; a sister, Atris Davis; a brother, Elzie Brake, both of Pensacola; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Harper-Morris Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Davis officiating.

Burial will be in Bayview Memorial Park with Escambia Masonic Lodge.
